cvsup.xfree86.org isn't providing a CVS service today.
anoncvs.xfree86.org is, so this isn't urgent.
Is this a technical problem, or is cvsup.xfree86.org being phased out ?

It is very useful when dealing with programs of a 5-10 year vintage that
were originally developed under X-Windows when 8 bit displays were the
best you could get.
Since most 8 bit displays used PseudoColor (read Pallete based), they
have particular hard-coded logic to deal with the color map.
mobile devices will always have more limitations,
so you wont get rid of any sort of low bpp formats.
in multi buffer environments, such as OGL with front,
back, depth, stencil, overlay, whatever you will be
in need to deal with any sort of pixel depth at the
same time as well.

I understand the need for 8bit displays to support legacy apps;
however, RandR (or RENDER? or a combination of the two?) is
(or will be) able to support 8bit visuals on a 24bpp display.

Hi.
I am trying to use the mmmtouch (Xfree86-V4.2) driver with a 3M touch screen.
I've got the driver running and the touch reacts, but somehow the calibration is weird
(or at least it seems to be the calibration).
My X-coordinates are ok but the Y-coordinates seem to be random, the cursor paces
I'm having issues getting to the documentation for this (linux-fbdev.org) - I

My experience is that a LOT of things in XFree86 4.3.0 are either broke, or

Thank you Mark, it works!
But why XFree doesnt autodetect the digital panel? Is this a problem in
XFree or in the digital panel? Note that the Flatpanel has a DFP connector and I
use an DFP-DVI adapter to connect them with the DVI videocard.

Thank you for your help! XFree doenst recognize that I use a digital panel.
This seems to be the reason for my problem.

Sorry for any inconvenience, it turned out that our supplier didn't know what they

The touch isn't a mmmtouch (dynapro) unit but MicroTouch so now everything is working
fine.
