Hello all,
I've decided to try out KDE 4.2. I unmasked all the packages that I
needed, but when I was emerging kde-base/ksysguard I got the following
error:

I have seen this pop-up every time I update kde-base/ksysguard but I am not
sure if I should be worried about it. I do not fully understand the
implications of it. I do not run Java on my PCs, so is that warning still
something I take heed of and what precautions should I put in place
Howdy,

I use the sensors built into the kernel. Last time I tried lm-sensors,
I couldn't get it to work right.
I don't use lm-sensors either. KSysGuard sees the kernel sensors just
fine without it. You just need to add them in the KSysGuard options.

I am not sure anymore - if you look into the ebuilds you should be able to see
it.

If you use KDE anyway try ksysguard.

The kernel takes care of that. You should be able to observe the CPU's
frequency and temperature in KSysGuard. Here's how it looks here:

In that screenshot, the CPU has all 4 cores clocked down to 1.

Everything is going fine now. The problem was that
/usr/lib64/qt4/libQtWebKit.so.4 was symlinked to QtWebkit 4.5 library
and that was the reason why some symbols could not be found. After
correcting the symlink the problem disappeared.
However, it seems strange to me, because I have tried and later

Phonon (working with ALSA/hdsp)
Amarok 2.x (dealing with local files only)
Konsole (he-he :-) )
Kima applet
KNetLoad applet (if it works at all)
KSysGuard
And I'm not interested in other rather classic desktop (I mean I'm not going
to use compiz and such ruches).
