To specify directories or files to exclude, we can use the option --
exclude
tar --exclude File1 --exclude Dir1 -lcf - . | ( cd /other/area; tar
-xvpf - )
via SSH remotely :
tar -czf
settings on exit (poweroff), and more
importantly, reloads them at boot.
'Alsactl store' doesn't help much if you don't somehow account for
'alsactl restore' :-) . Alsasound is the easiest way to do this, but you
can just get your session manager to run the command for you, if you prefer.

Try saving the mixer state when the sound is working
alsactl store
then start up kde, (i presume you sound stops working now),
and then try
alsactl restore
and see whether the sound works...
If this is the problem disable the mixer settings

Hi.
I'm looking for a very lightweight SMTP server. It
should (in order):
- Support TLS or SSL for outgoing/incoming connections
- Be VERY light on CPU usage
- Store mails in Maildir format (or hand it off to an

a matter of setting the SMTP server to localhost, or wherever
your postfix server lives.
How do you collect mail? It's probably easiest to let postfix store
incoming mail in a local maildir store and run a local IMAP/POP server -
I use dovecot for this.

Bother, said Pooh, as his 'B
. It does not store whatever it is
that it is trying to store so it knows I am me. I tried this several
times. The last time I could not get in at all.
It would seem to me that it is a cookie problem since according to that
Passmark info, that is what it stores locally. I dunno.

no problems on booting up.
the module snd_intel8x0 is the re in the kernel accorindg to lsmod along
with all the dependencies.
alsactl store didn't fix the problem.
So, I'm at a loss as to what to try next.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
This is amd64 if that matters.

It's in portage, but the latest version 0.9 is in ~ARCH.
And it does store the permission and ownership information along with
the files.
That's because it stores files in an archive,
Nope ;-)
