It would be really interesting to see how efficient you could make a cogen system, run the exhaust through copper pipes in a large tank and preheat your hot water with it. Have a bank of batteries and a 2kw generator that puts out 120v, to reduce inverter losses. Runs periodically to charge batteries and if you have a larger load than normal. Oh well, it's nice to think about, maybe when I get my own house..
