Then just copy one of each pair and rename the copy as a *.TXT file.

The identical *.EML and *.MSG files appear as just simple text files, which
you can open in any text editor, although any binary attachments will
appear as random gobbledegook.

I wouldn't recommend editing any of the files, especially those with binary
content, though.
