I'm also interested in this target platform and wondered if "remix" would work. I've run 7.10 on the D945GCLF, but 8.04 errors. I've read Xubuntu works but haven't had a chance to test.
It would also be great to have an easily installable version to a thumb drive. I can run the D945GCLF off other thumb distros (without any hard disk at all) but haven't had any luck with Ubuntu 7.10 or 8.04. Can we get an Ubuntu distro that works for Atom based motherboards with an option to install / boot from a thumb drive? It's a good, energy efficient, economically attractive, and reasonably powered platform.
