Hi Bob, I have the same board - and was also wondering how this might work with th Ubuntu MID edition (or remix etc.)
I am running Ubuntu 8.04 (requires all the upgrades to fix on board LAN incompatibilities), Fedora and Puppy. I have the board running off thumb drives configured with those systems. I had to turn off the on board LAN and drop in a PCI LAN card until I got 8.04 up to the latest revisions - then I went back to on-board LAN. I also had to set the USB emulation to hard disk, rather than the default of AUTO. (I also had a problem powering an external USB hard drive - one brand didn't boot from USB reliably, but the SimpleTech 160 GB portable drive works great. It would be fun to see new flavors of Ubuntu for carpc etc. I have the D945GCLF running off battery pack of Sanyo AA-rechargeables. I'm working on solar power for charging. The Intel Atom is a really capable and power smart little platform.
