<<So glen,
If I run my trusty 6100 G3 off an airport extreme base station, which has a
out going ethernet jack, or for that matter a hub where one connection goes to
the Base Station and the other to the 6100, will all the items that are hooked
up by SCSI and my printer which is connected to the 6100 via the printer
port work, for the other lap tops connected to the base station. Or at worst
transfer the file to be printed to the 6100 and use it that way. >>

Good question, my simple answer is I don't know. I have no wireless
experience.

Here is what I can offer:

I don't think your printer will work connected to the printer port with the
other networked Mac's. The printer needs to support Ethernet or you will need a
LocalTalk to Ethernet bridge. I used an AsanteTalk bridge when I had
LaserWriter NTX and a LaserWriter 360 connected. All my current devices support
Ethernet so no bridge is necessary.

SCSI devices -- external hard drives, and removal storage should mount OK
over the network, a scanner is an other matter it depends on the scanner
software. The USB scanner I am using now is not networkable but I have used a
SCSI
scanner that could be used over the network.

File transfer is no real problem unless I want to take a file from a Mac
running OS X to a Mac running OS 7. But I never need to do that.

All my 6100's along with other Mac's which include an SE/30, IIci, a 7100, a
B&W G3 and a Sawtooth G4 are hard wired to a 16 port Ethernet switch along
with B/W laser printer, a digital color copier/printer, a digital B/W copier
and
a larger format inkjet color printer. The OS's range from 7.5.5 to OS 10.3.9.

Everything works for me. YMMV.

Perhaps someone with some real world network experience would be a better
source to sort out your situation. I'm no (as obvious) network guru.

Best, good to hear from you again, --glen
