erm becuase crappy mixers dont stand up to any sort of turntablism abuse - from the online mixers of yours Ive heard you seem to stick to more of the blendin thang than the scratching thang which is maybe why your gemini has lasted well. I bought a kam when I first got decks and it lasted great till I started scratching and then the xfader popped its clogs in about 5mins :( I then went to the large 19" 4 channel vestax (pmc15?) which lasted about 5mins too - in fact even the technics seems to give up pretty easily. I'd bve interested to see how the new vestax PCV's compare though as they seem pretty reasonably priced.
most venues worth there salt tend to have decent installation mixers nowadays anyway - the last 3 places Ive played have had A+H and most others seem to opt for the big pioneers / vestax / or formulaSound installations.
