Thank you Gustin :)

I'm still half asleep, that's why I will read your whole reply (and all
other 64 Studio list mails) later. Because your mail was the last mail
that came in, I read the last sentence.

Yes, I only would try to install 64 Studio to the seemingly broken USB
stick again.

Some half good news for the IDE hard disk drive with the seemingly lost
partition table:

- I have backuped the IDEs MBR with the needed partition table, but
without the Windows boot loader
- I have no media to restore the Windows boot loader on the IDE, but
Windows still can be booted
- It's 100% clear that the IDEs MBR points to Suse 11.0 GRUB on the
SATA, I can reinstall it, if it should get lost (until now GRUB is fine)

I guess that I can recover the IDE's partition table by dd back just the
partition table from the MBR backup and not the whole MBR ... but before
I try this, I first need to awake ;) and after this I will read the
mails and google and backup the actual MBR and some data.

If only the MBR, resp. the partition table should be broken, I should be
able to fix that. If it's not broken hardware, I guess it only will be
the MBR and nothing else.

To be continued.

Cheers,
Ralf
