Mixing and matching kernels from various releases can lead to problems, especially since every Ubuntu release seems to use a different gcc version. If he is using Ubuntu 9.04, have him search for ubuntustudio in his package management software of choice. The "ubuntustudio-desktop" virtual package will install nearly everything. If all he wants is the RT kernel, then install "linux-image-rt".
If he really wants 64Studio then start from Ubuntu 8.04, going from 9.04 will probably have a lot of problems. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.9 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iEYEARECAAYFAkqS0b4ACgkQwRXgH3rKGfNfAQCdHgOnJbuBeLUWQwOUes0YOb4+ TOIAoJcOmkEJYH2js0r+RBIsBOmvr/4T =ec8q -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ 64studio-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.64studio.com/mailman/listinfo/64studio-users
