Why not just use the Ubuntu Studio kernel for 9.04? Mixing and matching
kernels from various releases can lead to problems, especially since
every Ubuntu release seems to use a different gcc version. If he is
using Ubuntu 9.04, have him search for ubuntustudio in his package
management software of choice. The "ubuntustudio-desktop" virtual
package will install nearly everything. If all he wants is the RT
kernel, then install "linux-image-rt".

If he really wants 64Studio then start from Ubuntu 8.04, going from 9.04
will probably have a lot of problems.
