Ok just had a look at an XP pc and My Documents folder/ s are on the path/ s
C:\Documents and Settings\All users\Desktop and depending on how many users you have it will also be on the same path but with the users name instead of 'Any Users' As far as scanning is concerned, I can RIGHT click any file anywhere and choose the option"Scan with AVG" Those IOW seagulls on your Desktop must be playing havoc with your PC Janet ;-) Rupert ------------------------ Yahoo!
