1. If you are a gamer and/or you download a lot of software, music, avi's,
etc then you need to purchase a seperate computer to handle just that kind
of surfing. The other computer should have just the operating system on it
and the browser you will use.

Hi Charles:

Like good advice but need to comment. You don't need a second
computer. You can dual boot or triple boot and use one of the OSs
as you recommend.

I just installed Win XP pro on my new Toshiba Laptop as a second
OS. Just installed it on a second partition along with other stulf I
keep there. Now when I boot up I only need to select Home or Pro.
Also I downloaded FREE Linux Ubuntu in the CD format and burned
it to a CD. It Boots and runs from the CD without influencing the
Windows settup. It goes online easily with Firefox. When you're
finished you can close Linux and store the CD. It also comes free
in the install mode. Has eMail client and several other applications.

One strange thing happened when I installed PRO. It was an older
version from an old PC and it installed without activation on the new
PC. Don't know what gives.

Someone else in the group is experimenting with Linux Ubuntu and
might give us some of his observations.

Emile
