Your computer spec or computer "power" have nothing to do with your
problem. It is your ISP and Tiscali is not one to be recommended. All
you can do is insist that your ISP contact your phone company and they
will or should do sort it. If they wont help, change ISP but in
Tiscali's case, that's difficult:( It is also possible your phone line
will not support 1Mbps ADSL but again Tiscali should be able to tell
you that but probably wont.

Re. Adobe. Just remove any reference to Adobe from your start-up
programs. It is a default setting, harmless and you don't need it.

BTW: Just do a quick test. Power down your router for 10 seconds,
re-connect and check speed again.

rarely get more than 6 entries. I dont have numerous programs
running. I have a Router which Firmware is up to date, Anti Virus up
to date, a software firewall up to date, no different when it is disabled.

http://myweb.tiscali.co.uk/speedfix but with a comparatively new up to
date PC I cant imagine it would be relevant. This morning when I shut
down there was an Adobe program unwilling to close, so I had to close
that. I didnt recognise it other than I have Adobe Reader and a photo
software.
