Thanks you for responding......the craziest thing happened. I opened the
tower and "dah" were 2 "two" !!! hard drives! That explains the other
drive! Now I pulled them both out one is a 17 gb and the other a 20 gb well,
I want to keep the 20 gb in the computer and not the 17 gb so I pulled the
17 gb out and left the 20 gb and re-attached the cable. Now the computer is
NOT reading the hard drive at all!

What would be the reason why the computer is not reading the hard drive?
Could the cable be bad? The computer did read both drives when they were
both in the computer so I don't see why it would have a problem reading one.

Thanks a million!

Cindy

Ya Cindy:

Click start menu, then right click My computer, then Manage, then Disk
management, then, action, then All task. You can then delete all the
partitions except the one XP is on, usually "C".

Considering the advantages of having at least one extra partition, I'm
kinda surprised you would want to delete all the extra partitions. The
major reason to keep at least one of course is to save all your data too.
Using the XP move command you can move the "My document folder"
to the extra partition and save all your data there so that it will be safe
in
case you ever have an Operating System failure. Then you can even do
a clean reinstall of XP without loosing the data that is saved to the extra
partition. Hope this helps
