Go to BIOS Setup i.e. press delete key when the computer starts,
search for Autodetect Harddisk option
If it does not show
You have to change the jumper settings on the Harddisk
It is very simple, next to power cable there is a jumper settings small black
colour joint box.
If you are not to familiar with jumper setting, you can see it on your Hard
disk back side it is written clearly
Hope the above information helps

Thanks you for responding......the craziest thing happened. I opened
the
tower and "dah" were 2 "two" !!! hard drives! That explains the other
drive! Now I pulled them both out one is a 17 gb and the other a 20 gb well,
I want to keep the 20 gb in the computer and not the 17 gb so I pulled the
17 gb out and left the 20 gb and re-attached the cable. Now the computer is
NOT reading the hard drive at all!
What would be the reason why the computer is not reading the hard drive?
Could the cable be bad? The computer did read both drives when they were
both in the computer so I don't see why it would have a problem reading one.
Thanks a million!
Cindy
