When your system is booting, before you get the Starting Windows XP... and the splash screen press F8. Press F8 again and it will give you boot options. Choose Safe Mode. Press enter at the Admin or Administrator login, it should let you login. Click on START and go to Control Panel then choose User Accounts. Choose the account that you want to reset the password and click on Change Password. Put nothing in the current password then choose a new password and then retype the new password. Next click on Change Password. Finally restart your computer.

His niece gave him a pc with Win Xp. She gave him an administrative password. He booted the pc and it asks for the administrative password but the one she gave him doesn't work. Is there anyway of by passing this and getting into windows? If yes - of course how - what can he do once in windows so that he doesn't have this problem again? Someone suggested that I get him a Linux boot disk and boot with it but I know nothing of Linux or what I would do If I used the boot disk. Any suggestions/resolutions would be greatly appreciated.
