For the most part no, the suggestions did not work or I didn't recommend 
them because I have never tried them - ie: Linux boot disk. I won't 
recommend something that I know absolutely nothing about. Several 
suggestions were for on line retrieval services that seemed legit so I 
passed along the web link. My recommendation from the beginning was a 
reformat and I still think that is best but not everyone is comfortable 
with reformatting a pc. Thanks once again.
