Terry,

Good afternoon! :-)

I am not certain why you think it would make any difference on which
drive or partition Opera or Eudora. If either of them fails I'd guess it
is because of a damaged install or something like that, not which drive
it was installed on. I prefer to install all applications on C. I
sometimes make changes in my other partitions that could cause problems
with installed application.
> The last time I reinstalled Opera, I put my preferences on the My Book drive,

I would not put an applications anywhere except the drive where the app.
lives. In fact I don't know how you would do otherrwise,

That sounds like something that might happen with preferences installed
somewhere else.

What do you mean by requesting a page, clicking on a URL?

> It's possible that some of the problem is my internet connection,
More likely mixed up preferences, if you ask me.

I would luninstall any application that was not installed on C or at
least where the preferences were saved somewhere else [how do you do
that anywya] and install the app and everything else related to it on
the C drive. If there's not enough room you need to enlarge C. I use
Partitoin Magic for that. But there's a free paritioner called G-Parted.
