I'm not sure about Firefox. I was using it quite a bit before I lost 
everything when I switched XP to a new drive. But...I use Webroot 
Spysweeper. It notifies you of any attempted change to your homepage 
(in any browser), and you choose 'yes' or 'no' to let the change 
happen or keep your current settings. It also will pop up every time 
there is an attempt to save to your Favorites. Sometimes that part is 
a little annoying because it's one extra step, but it is good 
protection. Like I said, I don't know what's happening with Firefox in 
particular, but I'll bet if you use Spysweeper it won't happen again.
