Once again sincere thanks to all who wrote
back with good advice.
The nagging fake "Windows Security Alert"
has gone away.
"Windows Live OneCare" has outdone quite a few
sturdy Trojans and sundry malware removers.
I'll follow John Wainwright's advice to alternatively
check online, about once a month, through free scanning services
using a different one each time.
