I am not confused or saying information that is incorrect.  First, if you have 
questions, ask me directly.  Don't assume how you read it is incorrect.

  That is not true, if the files were there they should be visible. I 
  don't know that they are there but if they are then they should be 
  visible on the D drive. One need not boot to a drive to see what is 
  there. It just has to be there to be seen. And nothing Diane has said 
  suggests that she did anything to delete them.

  You need to avoid telling someone something that is not so, if you 
  aren't certain then don't say it, that can cause a lot of confusion.
