If you put Vista on first XP will load on the rest of the partition making
its own partition. I have XP with Ubuntu in an ordinary file for dual boot.

All upgrades to new systems seem tricky to some folk because they are very
different to the previous version as per Win3 to 95, 95 to 98, 98 to XP.

Many give up in disgust?????

I assume that you mean that you can put two OSs on the hard drive.

That is true of most computers today.

As for Vista being difficult, I suppose any new OS that has made

Functional changes will be difficult. Some things that I don't do

Often and have been changed are sometimes tricky to figure out.
