thanks for explanation. Based on these facts regarding wireless, the only use I can think for it for me would be if I'm visiting a store that offers wireless. Does that mean I have to have an account, or do they have the account and give it to me for free?

I guess some ISPs will provide it, I personally bought a wireless router so that my daughter can get internet upstairs in her room.
