 thanks for your reply. i have been on the phone with my isp 4 times
shortest call must have been 45-60 minutes. i'm in the USA using
windows XP windows explorer 8 beta 2, windows XP service pack 2 
 the second person said that they needed to use a "bridge" what ever
that is ? to even get me on the internet. this is what i get trying to
do a dianostic as whi i can not use enternet exploere " welcome to
network diagnestic for windows xp " windows cannot connect to the
internet using HTTP,HTTPS, or FTP"  " this is  probably caused by
firewall settings on this computer" check the firewall settings for
the HTTP port (80) HTTPS port (443) and FTP" i have no idea what any
of this all means lol  no idea whay a "bridge" is ether
