Well, I read the booklet that came with it, and it seemed to indicate that if I 
ordered from a retailer I should contact the retailer. Perhaps Dell would have 
helped me anyway, but I was so nervous about being charged for it that I didn't 
want to register the computer until I was sure I would keep it. So I did not 
keep it.

I'm guessing that Dell has deteriorated some in recent years. I own a 
Dell Quad Core and I like it but it came with XP. I installed Vista on 
my Gateway, which is my secondary PC. I wanted to learn Vista more 
gradually. If Dell is not backing ALL their computers then they most 
likely will lose business.
