When pushed, she told me that I cannot use the ethernet from the desk top which the cable company installed and put it into the laptop and expect it to work. She said I should get a wireless adapter. That was after she told me I needed to contact the laptop maker for installation instructions. So I figured this was just too much work for me right now, and didn't want to necessarily pay extra for a wireless adapter. the cable co. told me that I could rent one for another few dollars each month, then the Walmart rep told me that I could buy a wireless adapter. i may do that in the future.

I'm sure Walmart knows nothing and wouldn't help me setting it up. I tried setting it up, and I'm talking particularly with my cable internet service. It was impossible. So I gave up. And took it back to Walmart, which kindly accepted it back without any hassle. I really don't know if it was Vista's fault, my fault, or my cable provider's fault, but I gave up trying to connect.
