No....if you figured out 98, it wouldn't matter whether you get Vista or
XP...it is a new system and it will take a little time to learn how to navigate
it. It is like buying a new car, the basics are the same, but the interior is
different and the ride feels a little different...once you get comfortable with
where everything is, and the feel, the ride is great!
You'll be fine!! Instead of spending the time worrying, dive in and use the
worrying time to learn the new system!! Embrace it as a new adventure, a trip
someplace you've never been before. In a few days, you'll be an expert! Have
faith!
Think about this, you are smart enough and astute enough to join a computer
tech group....you ask questions and undertake trying to solve problems
yourself. You are lightyears ahead of 99% of the computer owner's world...and
99.99% of the people buying computers today are getting Vista. If they can use
a computer with Vista, you have no worries!!
Dell has a tech support package with their systems...software and hardware...if
you have a problem question or dilemma, you have a lifeline! I'm sure you
aren't like these customers: Tech: Are all your windows closed? Customer:
No...give me a couple of minutes...comes back to the phone huffing and puffing
and says "They are all closed now....why did you need all my windows closed?"
Tech: We need all programs closed so we can diagnose your computer. Customer:
You mean windows on my computer? I closed all the windows in my house!!
Customer: My computer won't work. Tech: Did you turn it on? Customer:
Yes.. Tech: What happened? Customer: Nothing. Tech: Is it plugged in?
Customer: Yes. Tech: Unplug it, unplug the monitor, printer, the phone line
and we'll start all over again. Customer: Ok.. 15 minutes elapse, everything
is plugged back in customer hits the on button, nothing happens. Tech: What
happens now? Customer: Nothing, nothing is on....Tech: Are you sure you
plugged everything in right? Customer: Sort of sure, I can't see too well
without much light. Tech: What do you mean without much light? Customer:
Our power is out.... Tech: Here's what I want you to do...box everything back
up, I'll give you a RMA number...send the system back tomorrow. Customer: Is
the computer defective? Tech: No, you are too stupid to own one!! LOL

Well, anything would be faster than the first 98. It's soooo slow. When you
say that I will have to learn it..how would it be different and what is it
that I will have to learn? Will it be difficult for someone not computer
savvy?
