Hi Theresa -
Yep, I remember your probs with Tbird, and how you've tried everything
but voodoo to fix them. What about what Holly said, just going with
Gmail and skipping the desktop client all together? Gmail can def handle
huge volumes of mail. It doesn't have "all" the features of a desktop
client, but you can still set up filters, etc.
I'm still almost certain that your probs with not having Tbird sync with
Gmail is caused by a slow dialup connection. So if you go strictly with
the cloud you'll eliminate the need to sync at all.
Have you looked at Yahoo! email? I use their basic version and it is ok
- but for your volume of mail and feature needs you'd want to go with
their paid version. Offers 200 filters, forwarding, POP too (if you
want it), no ads, an offline mode, etc. And it's only $19.99 for a
year. http://mailplus.mail.yahoo.com/ They also have a pretty nice
Android smartphone, tablet app. Not sure about iPhone.
