If device manager doesn't show any problems your guy has already installed the chipset drivers - so no worries there. I used to use AVG, but MS Security Essentials runs so well and is so un-intrusive I switched to it. Who else knows better how to protect windows than Microsoft? You can get it at the Microsoft website if you decide to try it. Totally free - and absolutely NO nags - unlike all other AV apps. http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=5201
