Thanks for your help.  I haven't went back to Best Buy or communicated by phone 
or email yet but I will.  What I did after reading your reply was I got a 
Norton Bootable Recovery Tool DVD from another Windows 7 computer and ran a 
scan based on virus definitions up to 9-20-13 and found no viruses nor anything 
else.  Then I attempted what you suggested and checked the hard drive.  The 
test ran for about 5 to 6 hours and found no problems (That doesn't mean 
there's nothing wrong with the hard drive but it was a good idea.).  I still am 
having trouble signing in to the Norton account to get back my Norton 360.  
Also I can't get my virus definitions updated on the Norton Internet Security 
that came with the computer (The one that shows up after you do a recovery and 
offers you a two month free subscription.).  Also at times the computer seems 
to be running slowly (For example, it was reacting slowly when I attempted to 
tell it to check the hard drive.).
