Would you like to help do the figuring out? For instance, by posting
a rosetta stone, with the ABC and MusiXTeX for some simple piece with
lyrics and/or multiple voices?
My problem is that I would love to use abc2mtex, but I never really
learned MusiXTeX well enough to even think about trying to code on it.
For me, the lyrics are more important than the multiple voices, since
I use scores mainly to proofread the parts.
