You should look at the MusiXTeX page on http://www.gmd.de/Misc/Music/.
Version T99 dates from last June, and has RPMs for common LINUX
distributions. There are also RPMS for PMX, which is an almost
ABC-level macro package. Unfortunately, not yet for M-TX, which seems
to be the way MusiXTeXers enter music with lyrics these days.
