The validity of railway card is from 5 years from the issue date of your
concession certificate and not from the card issue date. Now, if your
concession certificate is issued in november 2012, then validity of your
card will be up to november 2017.

Hello
Has anyone from the list received his/her railway ID card? If yes, what is
the expiry date of the card? Actually, a friend of mine has just received
his card which is valid up to November 2017.
Is it not a joke? The concession certificate which we are using till now is
valid for 5 years from the date of issuance. Anyone eligible for the
concession can get the certificate within no time. But the smart card which
is being issued in 3 to 6 months is valid for 1 or two years.
