Thanks for clarifying the issue. If it is so, it isn't a good idea. In my
view the term of 5 years should commence from the date of issuance of the
smart card .

Hello
Has anyone from the list received his/her railway ID card? If yes, what is
the expiry date of the card? Actually, a friend of mine has just received
his card which is valid up to November 2017.
Is it not a joke? The concession certificate which we are using till now is
valid for 5 years from the date of issuance. Anyone eligible for the
concession can get the certificate within no time. But the smart card which
is being issued in 3 to 6 months is valid for 1 or two years.
