| Sorry that was my mistake that I misunderstood and misread your mail. Shall be more mindful to read with patients before replying.
Thank you for understanding šš» Sincerely, Mujtaba Merchant Bangalore | INDIA Sent from iPhone Ā® Hi Mujtaba, I understand that your complaint was not filed against HDFC, as that is a separate matter. Our current focus remains on improving the Aadhaar application, and I have already shared my perspective on the issues we are discussing regarding its accessibility and functionality. Best regards, Nitinbhai Patel
I have not filed a case on the HDFC mobile application. My mail mentioned that I have filed a case for the MRR application on iOS. I have emailed Amar separately about it. Sincerely, Mujtaba Merchant Bangalore | INDIA Sent from iPhone Ā® Dear Amar, I just wanted to quickly weigh in on this. I fully agree that you should continue with serving the contempt notice and proceed with filing the complaint immediately, as you planned for tomorrow. The urgency is warranted. I appreciate Mujtabaās effort in filing a separate case with the CCPD, which is a good move. However, as we know, the resolution process there can often be slow due to the large number of pending applications. Your court action, on the other hand, will compel a direct and timely response. Having multiple applications across different forums, including the court, will undoubtedly add significant weight to the issue. Please do not stop your work on this. Best regards, Nitinbhai Dear all,
I would like to add a broader perspective to the ongoing discussion on authentication mechanisms in the new Aadhaar app.
Face authentication, though projected as a modern and advanced solution, is frankly quite alarming when viewed from a security and accessibility standpoint. The concern is not limited only to visually impaired usersāthis method has the potential to affect any Aadhaar holder.
Consider a simple scenario: a person is sitting casually, unaware, while someone tampers with their phone and scans their face without explicit consent. The individual may not even realize that authentication has occurred. This opens up serious possibilities of misuse and unauthorized access to Aadhaar-linked services. In such cases, the user has little to no control or awareness.
Fingerprint authentication, while often proposed as an alternative, is not entirely foolproof either. In theory, even fingerprints can be misusedāfor example, taken while a person is asleep. So while fingerprint authentication may be more accessible than face authentication for many users, it still does not fully eliminate the risk of exploitation.
When we think deeply about these issues, OTP-based authentication appears relatively safer, as it requires active participation and awareness from the user. That said, OTPs are also not immune to fraud, especially in cases of SIM compromise or social engineering.
This brings me to what seems like the most balanced and secure option: a user-defined PIN-based login system. A PIN requires conscious intent, is device-independent, screen-reader friendly, and places control back into the hands of the user. Such a system is already widely accepted in banking and other sensitive digital platforms.
Beyond technology, there is a larger concern here. The government has, over time, repeatedly overlooked the rights and lived realities of persons with disabilities. What is happening with the Aadhaar app is not an isolated incidentāit is part of a continuing pattern. That is precisely why our articulation must be clear, rational, and firm.
We are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for choice, security, and dignity. The system must be designed in a way that accommodates diverse users and compels policymakers to seriously consider our perspectives.
Only by presenting these arguments cohesively can we hope to push the authorities to acknowledge and address these concerns meaningfully.
Regards, Dhaval Trivedi]
Why do you do this? Everything urgent and to be done by tomorrow. I have already filed a case with CCPD about the M Adhaar application for IOS. At office cannot access portal to get details. Wait, let me try something if it is successful. Iāll send it to you. On your private mail ID. Sincerely, Mujtaba Merchant Bangalore | INDIA Sent from iPhone Ā® Dear all-the new Aadhaar app, while a welcome step in terms of the features it offers as completely overlooked the mandate of the Supreme Court judgement dated 30th April 2025, so much so that it still relies on blinking of eyes for face authentication, and there is no other way to login if you have set up your face authentication.I am serving them a contempt notice and want to list down all possible issues that we as community can figure out. I will be grateful for your inputs at the earliest, but no later than tomorrow morning. Thank you.Sent from my iPhone-- Disclaimer:1.
