select that file (.dat), press alt+enter to open its property and press alt+c to activate the change...butten which opens the open with dialog and under that tree view select "windows media player" and say OK. note: if you have already installed the k-light codec classic media player should open these files by default. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Shyam M. Subject: [AI] What are the DAT Files?

Dear members, I have some files with the extension as DAT. Actually I know that they all contain Indian Classical Vocal Music. But I do not know how to open them and what software is required to play them. I have several media players but none of them can play them. Please explain what are the DAT Files and how to open them.
Yours sincerely,
Professor Shyam M. Sayanekar
