Dear Phen, Wonderful to see your interest in HR. I fully understand your point but, in most institutes today, you have a HR related internship. In my case I worked with 5 organisations on HR assignments which helped me understand and relate it to the concepts I captured in class. No distance education will give you that. You need to work with various projects, live assignments, group assignments and attend guest lecture to get the true essence of HR. It is a people driven subject remember? In softer sides of management, we say the more people you meet the better it is for you. Unless you gather knowledge from the veterans how do you implement them in organisations? Hence I believe it is important to do any course i.e. management or HR from a good institute that gives you enough exposure to learn, understand and practice your knowledge. You must experience it in real time. One of my teachers at Tata institute of social sciences was the Vice president HR at Asian Paints.
It is not as difficult as you think to apply and get in. I wish you all the success and do get back if you have further queries.
