Marcel Offermans commented on ACE-47:
-------------------------------------
Very true! However, the management agent on the gateway is in itself a passive
component that is currently triggered at regular intervals by a scheduler.
Applications running on the gateway are allowed to trigger the management
agents at moments in time, or states that they're in, that are convenient
moments to check for updates and/or install them. So it's hard for the server
to "know" when the next time should be that a gateway polls. In fact, every
gateway might have its own interval.
That being said, there are probably some instances in which you can define that
if you have not seen a gateway for more than X amount of time, there probably
is something wrong with it.

> If a gateway goes away, webui insists of them being "OK". Have not checked if
> its just a UI thing or the server not recognizing this.
