Yep, great ideas. I think the one that the gateway sends its polling interval
and server accumulates the last intervals to get a best guess if the client is
late or not.
The only problematic time would be if polling time dramatically increases from
say 1s to 1h which would lead the server to miss the gateway for +59minutes.
However, this can be fixed by let the gateway poll once polling configuration
changes.
