but that is just an implementation detail. It still stands that the gateway has
the knowledge about its polling interval and could simply send that info on
every poll. That way, the server has a pretty good idea when the gateway is
"late" and when not. That is true no matter how many gateways x pollintervalls
you have. Granted, if the interval for a given gateway is really long then its
not going to be the most accurate "educated guess" about whether its online or
not but for a reasonable timeframe (like a couple of seconds) it should work
pretty darn well and even a couple of minutes should still feel somewhat
"realtime" :-)
