Yes, and it still utilizes a "synch" machine that synchronizes with the Windows Update site, based on an updated XML file. The SMS FP also beefs up inventory so you can successfully target machines that need specific patches. And, of course, SMS has the reporting features so you can see where distributions were successful and where they failed.
