Hi Sheryl. Gosh, everyone else is so organized! At FIU, we do not send out any direct communications once a new or updated policy has been posted (other than to the VP or Dean who initiated the policy or the policy change). We do list the 10 most recently updated/newest policies on our web site, and we do post a quarterly newsletter with a "Policy of the Month."
That being said, and probably due to a great conference in Orlando, we recently decided to identify key personnel in each unit or division to serve as our policy communicator for their respective unit/school/division. Working with this liaison, we'll seek their assistance to communicate their policy to their list serve (via email, newsletter, etc.). Our hope is this initiative will further enhance collaboration between the policy office and the units as well as promote buy-in from areas that may have felt neglected. Of course, in an ideal world, we would love to email the entire University list serve... Good luck!
