Hello Meredith,

I think your question is well within reason for an ACUPA topic! But perhaps I
am biased since my office (Policy) reports directly to the Executive Director
of Policy, Risk Management and Compliance. We have an Ethics and Compliance
Officer and approximately 30 police officers (one Chief of Police), and one
administrative assistant in our department (Policy, Risk Management &
Compliance) who report to the Executive Director. He reports directly to the
Chief Administrative and Finance Officer.

We are a public institution with a student (credit) population of just under
8000 and several thousand non-credit students (adult education, skilled trades
and workforce development).

I work closely on a daily basis with our Ethics/Compliance Officer and the
Exec. Dir. (also the ERM authority on campus). We see this as a perfect fit.

Let me know if I can answer anything else for you. Hope this helps.

Subject: [acupa-l] Enterprise Risk Management

Good morning, all,

I apologize that this question deviates from the traditional policy-related
questions, but I am hoping for input from a policy-administrator perspective.

Our policy management is housed in University Compliance, and as a department,
we work closely with the Risk Manager on a daily basis.

We are looking for models of organizational responsibility, function, and
reporting regarding Enterprise Risk Management (ERM). Our 10,000 student public
university has the Risk Manager charged with implementation. Would the
reporting and oversight of ERM and the Risk Manager be best housed in
Compliance? With the Executive Vice President? Internal Audit? Why or why not?

Thank you all for any insight you may have!
