Christine,

I know that we do have less formal solicitations taking place, but I could not
locate an official policy covering the subject. As far as gifts for
admins/employees, let me refer you to our Employee Appreciation and Recognition
Gifts and Rewards Policy:
https://www.uvu.edu/policies/officialpolicy/uploads/public/200/201_220/211.employee_appreciation_and_recognition_gifts_and_rewards.20080611.pdf
I hope this is helpful. Have a great day!

Best,

Subject: [acupa-l] Gifts and Contributions in the Workplace

Good afternoon, everyone.

I'd like to ask the group how your campuses handle solicitation in the
workplace. For example, do you allow employees or supervisors to initiate
taking up "voluntary" collections to provide gifts for the admins, or for other
co-workers? What about other, less formal solicitations for birthdays, baby
gifts, etc.? Do you cover this kind of canvassing under your campus's
solicitation policy? Are these solicitations the same as trying to sell things
to co-workers (which we do prohibit)?

Thanks for any thoughts you might be able to share.

Hope to see many of you next week!

Christine
