I used to build my own computer with kick ass configuration. Now I switch to a Dell
4800 with 3Ghz Hyperthreading CPU, 2GB RAM. The performace is just okay. I got very
jerky preview window in Premiere. It wasn't like that b4.

So you might try some company that they build gaming PC. Try cyperpowerpc.com

Subject: [AP] What PC should I buy?

Believe it or not, I've been doing editing on my Sony VAIO laptop,
with 512 MB, and 80 GB. But, I want to buy a desktop that I can use
strictly for editing. Does anyone have any suggestions? I like
Sony VAIO. What do I need to put in this PC to really get the best
of Premiere that I can. Anyone....?
