My initial question is-- is it dark on BOTH the computer monitor and
attached video device? Because of the differences in the way these two types
of monitors display images, what looks very dark on a computer monitor may
look normal on a television.

As far as the brightness-- there's a shadows/highlights effect, and I think
perhaps a brightness/contrast effect. (I can't remember which is in which
version of Premiere Pro/Premiere 6.x.) The color correction effects do
include some white balancing options, as well as contrast settings that help
brighten or darken a scene. (Although the result is the same as the
shadows/highlights effect.)

Keep in mind-- color correction should never be attempted without an
attached video monitor. Unless your medium of delivery is computers only,
such as web or kiosk.

Subject: [AP] Brightening Clips???

Hello Everyone. I have a BIG problem, I have some footage that I shot
for a client, but it is real dark for some reason. Will Color
Correction fix this in Pro? Will anything fix this in 6.5 without
distorting the picture? I currently have it on my 6.5 machine, but I
will move it to Pro if I have to. Thanks

Byg Shorty
