. The Sanskrit word krishna means "black", "dark" or "dark-blue"[5] and is used as a name to describe someone with dark skin. Krishna is often depicted in murtis (images) as black, and is generally shown in paintings with a blue skin.
Krishna is often depicted as an infant or young boy playing a flute as in the Bhagavata Purana,[1] or as a youthful prince giving direction and guidance as in the Bhagavad Gita.[2] The stories of Krishna appear across a broad spectrum of Hindu philosophical and theological traditions.[3] They portray him in various perspectives: a god-child, a prankster, a model lover, a divine hero and the Supreme Being.[4] The principal scriptures discussing Krishna's story are the Mahabharata, the Harivamsa, the Bhagavata Purana and the Vishnu Purana. The earliest text to explicitly provide detailed descriptions of Krishna as a personality is the epic Mahābhārata which depicts Krishna as an incarnation of Vishnu My honest opinion, Krishna is a beautiful legenary figure. Created by man at a time when the masses where iliterate. This 4th centruary BC figure became the focual point for much of the morilisic educaton of the masses. At that time the only way information was transported from village to village was through stories. These stories where used to install doctrins to control the masses. This affect is still going on today. My attiude is that all men are equal. Allways have been. We are equal because we are one. This universe is a reflection of our attitude. It has no seperation. Krishna is a legend created to protray various aspects of human behaviour, to help people understand themselves. Krishna, Mosses, Jesus and Mohhamed where men, just like you and me. As men they knew their truth. But the stories which where created around them made them legends. The only truth that is real is today. Any true master will tell you “look and listern to today” knowing that there is no past. They will tell you. If you want enlightenment then I have just given it to you. It is right in front of you so please get on with it. Making you your own master. .
