The more often this mantra is repeated, the truer it becomes, and the
harder it is to refute. Doubly so if it comes from inside the community.

1) Perl is no one's forgotten stepchild.

2) Perl is what keeps the internet from imploding, not Java.

3) Perl is Perl. It doesn't need to be compared to Java.
It stands very well on it's own.

4) Perl Leads. CPAN is that oft coveted, never duplicated
resource that highlights the heights and depths of Perl.
   (Just remember, it's all good.)

5) Perl is a living language. Perl is growing to meet tomorrow's demands.
   Today.

6) Perl is worthwhile because it was designed in a real-world manner
   to realistically solve real-world problems.

Perl doesn't have a pet academic idea it's trying to propound,
a vendor-centric view of the world, or a self-imposed limit
   on solutions it can provide.

Perl doesn't have an organizing Central Office behind it like Java
because that's not the Perl way. If that's not acceptable to PHB's,
respin it so that it is; don't create a Central Office for Perl because
that would kill the community, the language or both.
