Good question. This is my guess and I could be wrong. "Everything goes" phenomenon is dominating in visual arts; for some reason. It is difficult to be brave enough or idiot enough( Turner prize) to expose taste or lack of by publicly evaluating true original visual art today. In any instance you will be attacked from one camp or another. The biggest fear is to be called tasteless by knowledgeable, or not 'cutting edge' by banal.
